Optical measuring system for measuring suspended solids profiles and turbidity profiles in water bodies.
The system consists of a series of optical infrared backscatter sensors (850 nm). The sensors are arranged at a distance of 1 cm. Thus, the Argus ASM-V offers the possibility to measure profiles of the suspended solids concentration with a resolution of 1 cm.
The measuring range of suspended matter concentration depends on the particle size in the water. In the case of sand particles, it is possible to measure particle concentrations of up to 10 g/l. For smaller particle fractions such as clay, concentrations of 3 g/l can be measured. Turbidity can be measured in the range of 0 to 1000 FTU.
In addition, the ASM-V also has an inclination sensor, pressure sensor and temperature sensor.
The device is available for three different measuring lengths. Type S for a profile height of 96cm, type N for a profile height of 144cm and type L with a profile height of 192cm.
The suspended solids meter has a data logger with a capacity of 8MB and a 9V block battery is sufficient as a power supply. Data is exported via an optical interface.
The data logger can be configured and read out with the supplied ASMA software. The measurement data can be exported in various formats.
