Temperature Options for Bohlin Rheometers
For our Bohlin Rheometers you can choose between following Temperature Units:

|
Waterbath |
-40°C to 250°C |
A range of fluid circulators, depending on heating and cooling performance and the temperature range required, are compatible with Bohlin rheometers. Fluid circulators offer stable temperature control across coaxial cylinder (cup and bob) and cone and plate configurations. The design of the rheometer water jacket ensures optimum fluid circulation to eliminate temperature gradients allowing the use of large double gap cells for extremely sensitive measurements on low viscosity systems.
|
ETO |
-15°C to 300°C |
Not only does the ETO offer higher temperatures than usually available with Peltier and fluid circulation systems, but it is also a compact alternative to a fluids circulator where parallel plate or cone and plate measurements are required. Rapid heating and cooling rates are available for applications requiring temperature cycles. Accurate temperature control is achieved using a thermocouple sensor embedded in the lower measuring plate. A thermal enclosure ensures uniform sample temperature. A version of the ETO is available with disposable plates for applications such as thermosets.

Peltier Plate |
-30°C to 300°C |
The peltier system is suitable for most fluid applications requiring parallel plate or cone and plate measurements. When rapid temperature changes are required, the Peltier systems can change setpoints at up to 60°C per minute. Extremely stable temperature control is achieved with a PT100 sensor (DIN standard).
|
ETC / LTU |
-150°C to 550°C |
The ETC is a forced gas oven which ensures rapid temperature changes with excellent conductivity and therefore minimal thermal gradients within the sample. The use of inert gas avoids sample degradation. A wide temperature range to 550°C is suitable for testing a variety of materials, including polymer melts and composites as well as solid samples, giving DMTA capability. With the optional liquid nitrogen based LTU, the lower temperature goes down from ambient to –150°C. The sample chamber is illuminated and an exhaust system removes any hazardous fumes from the chamber for operator safety. Reusable and easily interchangeable plates are standard and special measuring systems are available for solids, fibres and films.

CP180 Cylinder Peltier |
-20°C to 180°C |
For many fluids applications, the Cylinder Peltier system avoids the need for a separate fluids circulator with cylindrical (cup and bob) measuring systems. The Cylinder Peltier is particularly suited when rapid temperature changes are called for. Ramping rates up to 30°C per minute are achievable to simulate processing conditions for instance. Removable sample cups available in several sizes offer test flexibility and ease of cleaning. A Wide Gap Cylinder Peltier is also available. The Universal Peltier option enables the rheometer to be used in either coaxial cylinder or plate measurement mode with one temperature control unit.
|
Unviversal Peltier |
-20°C to 180°C |
Supplied as an optional accessory to the CP180 system, this option enables the rheometer to be used in either coaxial cylinder or plate measurement modes with just one compact temperature control unit.
