Porosity

Porosimeter Pascal

The Pascal is a mercury Porosimeter for measurement of pore distribution in the field of macro and mesopores. This technique provides reliable information on the pore size distribution, pore volume, porosity, the apparent and true density of the most porous materials, regardless of their type and form. The technique is based on the intrusion of non-wetting liquid mercury in a porous system based on pressure.

The mercury Porosimeter is used for the determination of
  • Pore distribution
  • Mean pore radius
  • Total pore volume
  • Specific surface
  • Density
  • Particle distribution

of fine and porous materials. The measuring range is between particles from 15 um to 3 mm and pore radii of 1.8 nm to 300 um in a pressure range from 0.01 to 400 kPa and can be up to 2000 mm³ sample.

The Pascal Porosimeter is automatically controlled by the software via RS232 interface. In addition, a mercury recycling station is available.
